Good upgrade there fella. I've found the 8800GTX to be ok so far - I'm on a Full HD 24" monitor too now. How many power connectors does the 5770 need? Is it bigger than the 8800GTX, or about the same size? It's interesting that you stuck with Vista rather than switching to Windows 7. I remember from the last BobLAN (and also from Al at some of the MiniBobs) that Windows 7 is not a stable gaming platform yet. Aside from the initial teething problems, Vista has been rock solid for me.

Seems that the guys responsible for the original (good) Medal Of Honor and the Call Of Duty/Modern Warfare games have been fired by Activision. They were all marked as full price but there was a medium sized sign on top of the aisle saying "all titles half marked price" which would have been hard to spot if you just took a look at the titles.

No Nvidia issues for me Steve :) I've upgraded my video card in the gaming shuttle to a 1GB Radeon 5770. This card should be better at powering my new 24" Benq LED backlit 1920*1080 LCD :wink: I've also upgraded the Shuttle to 4GB RAM and Vista Ultimate 64. And swapped in a new 1TB Sammy spinpoint F3, just like yours. Bring on BobLAN :P

I've done a rollback, using the Driver Rollback button - seemed to work fine. Much easier than the old Remove/Re-install method. No problems so far.

Too late - I installed em on Thursday. I played a few hours on Friday night with no issues - didn't notice any overheat problems.

If you're near the PC World in town you may want to pop in. They're shutting down (to merge with Curry's). All of their PC games are on at half price including a couple of copies of Left 4 Dead 2 (so Wij, get your arse over there cos it's only £15). Don't know how long the offer will stand as they looked to be in the final stages of the move.

From Nvidia... We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.co.uk. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers do not download this driver. Instead, please stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our website and we also are asking our partners and others to remove temporarily this 196.75 WHQL driver as well.
