This was quite an important game for DFC. Firstly, it is one year to the day since DFC was formed. Secondly, we have not managed to win an opening league game yet despite this being our fourth season in MCW.
We found ourselves up against Q7 who are a new clan. This doesn't always mean that the game will be easy as new clans are often formed from experienced players from other clans. Q7 were a bit of an unknown so we did our usual thorough preparation.
Q7 initially took control of the slime room by being first there. The first Quad, however, was bagged by DF-Wij who decided to go on a rampage. The slime room was taken back and DF-Gaz got hold of the YA area, thus tying up both RLs. EvilGoblin joined Wij and Mesmer got in position to start Quad running. From there, we never looked back.
DF racked up 100 frags fairly quickly, with Wij and Goblin seeing a lot of action in the slime room. Gaz played a steady game locking down the YA area gaining a very high efficiency. Mesmer only missed 2 or 3 of the remaining Quads.
Q7 came back well towards the end but by then it was too late. We know what it's like to be on the end of a game like this - see our MCW Season 4 results to see what I mean :(
This was an excellent performance by an improving DFC. Woohoo :)
