The confirmed dates for next year's Autumn BobLAN are Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th November 2026. The dedicated BobLAN page will be created with around a month to go.

A new season of the Delta Force extraction shooter has launched, codename "For Ahsarah". As usual, you get a new map, new weapons, gear and a load of extra goodies. Read full details over on playdeltaforce.com

A big update to Battlefield 6 has just dropped, giving an additional game mode Rodeo in the free Gauntlet side of the game. Other changes include new weapons, maps and a whole host of fixes.

Despite being a few bodies down, this was another memorable BobLAN. Okay, no kebabs down the stairs, but this one was memorable due to the variety of games we played.

Here are a few highlights:

• Battlefield REDSEC - the big newcomer and very popular, although only supporting four players at a time. For a free game it kept us entertained for hours with solid squad play and organisation. I have no doubt this will return
• Battlefield 2042 - this game gets some stick in the wider community but it can be fun. Ideally we'd have had more players, but still enjoyable
• Counter-Strike 2 - some very close games with the rooms well balanced. Hats off to Pup and Daz for their work on getting the server and stats working!
• Rocket League - a short session but enjoyed by all who took part. It had been a while since Rocket League featured, so nice to see it's return
• Wreckfest - still a firm favourite, and will be until Wreckfest 2 is available at a reasonable price
• GRID Autosport - a surprisingly clean set of races, still a great looking game
• The Finals - a short session on Saturday evening, still a great game for team play
• ARC Raiders - another newcomer that not everyone has bought yet, but looks amazing

Echoing all the comments in Discord, huge appreciation to Bob and Lynda for hosting and feeding us all again. There were plenty Bob Things for Bob to get on with, not least of which was the attempt to get a projector working for the quiz. Sadly it was not to be.

Thanks also to Pup for his efforts in provisioning a CS2 server for us, and also for producing the PupQuiz every time - a staple part of BobLAN!

The next BobLAN is scheduled for May Day weekend 2026 - see you all there!

Setup day done and dusted, and far from the usual mincing, we had plenty of game time on Battlefield REDSEC - the new free Battle Royale version of Battlefield. Visuals are amazing, as is the gameplay - definitely more playtime on this one over the weekend!

One for the Counter-Strike fans - IEM Chengdu group stage started earlier today. The tournament runs all week, with the grand final taking place on Sunday 9th November.

A free-to-play version of the latest edition in the Battlefield franchise launched today. Battlefield REDSEC is a battle royale mode, and its launch is timed to coincide with the start of Battlefield 6 Season 1.

Season 6 of the Delta Force extraction shooter, codenamed "War Ablaze", launches tomorrow. Owners of the game should expect a large update - they are quoting at least 25GB.

Changes include new operators, new weapons and vehicles and special events, plus the usual mission refresh.

The final BobLAN of 2025 begins in 8 weeks - now's the time for those upgrades! Game discussions will take place on Discord over the coming weeks, but expect the likes of Counter-Strike 2 Battlefield 2042 to feature heavily.

Activision have made a significant change to Call of Duty HQ for players of the two older games - Modern Warfare II and III. Both these games have been moved out of HQ and are now standalone games in Steam, meaning you can go straight into MWII without having to make the hop through HQ first. It also means you don't suffer from having to wait for massive Black Ops updates that you don't care about if all you want to do is play DMZ.

Well done Activision for porting settings across - keyboard and mouse settings are preserved, as are system settings such as graphics and audio.

Less well done Activision for leaving 80GB behind under the cod22 and cod23 folders within Call of Duty HQ.

Update: rumours are circulating that the underbarrel grenade launcher glitch is back. If that is right, it could spell the end of DMZ. If you recall, this was fixed by accident via a Warzone patch last year, but the move away from Warzone has regressed DMZ to pre-fix status. Devastating news if true.

Delta Force Season 5, codename Break, is here. Launched yesterday, the update brings new operators, new maps, Zero Dam night mode and a new water mechanic with jet ski and Blacksite upgrades for underwater breathing.
